Can you describe the moment you wanted to capture? 

I wanted to capture in a small way, the essence of New York. The robust New York skyline provided a contrasting backdrop to the ever changing flow of cars beneath. I liked the lack of certainty. Unable to know what vehicle was about to cruise towards and then underneath me. This unpredictability ensured there was no pressure on the exact point at which I took the photo. It didn't matter to me what was crossing the bridge. This gave me a slice of uncertainty in an otherwise staged situation. The good fortune of the yellow cabs darting through did provide a nice bit of New York soul though.

Where were you when you realised you wanted to make this piece of art? 

Walking across the bridge itself. 

 

 

Were you listening to music when you created this piece?

Yeah, probably something by Morrissey and Marr.

 

 

What have you learnt since creating this piece? 

The benefit of finding personal value in what can seem a generic experience repeatedly undergone by others.

 

 

Where do you dream of living?

Somewhere close to a good record store.
