Can you describe the moment you wanted to capture? Can you describe the moment you captured the photo?
Friend was lazing around on the sofa. It’s something I see everyday and thought I might as well take a photo of it. I just stood on the armrest of the big red sofa we have in our flat and took an aerial perspective of what he was doing. He didn’t really think much of it.
Where were you when you realised you wanted to make this piece of art?
I don’t really think about taking photos before I take them, if I see something simple that I feel can be captured in a pleasant looking way I do it.

Were you listening to music when you created this piece?
I think Dan had something on the speakers, probably Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland’.
What have you learnt since creating this piece?
Not much.
Where do you dream of living?
My dream destination usually differs for each period of my life. I really want to live in Islington or Chelsea (Manhattan) at some point in my 20s. When I settle down I really want to be by the sea – growing up by the beach in Liverpool was like a dream for fresh air and relaxing sounds. When I retire and all my children (if I have any) are financially independent, I would like to travel around the world.
