Can you describe the moment you wanted to capture?

I think a recurring theme for these photos is that they are in the majority calm, except the one with Freddie swearing in from of the ‘Fuck UoE’ graffiti – but even then, the colours and toning don’t make the photo seem as aggressive. There’s something about green that just is relaxing. So I suppose the moments were all just supposed to be peaceful.

Can you describe the moment(s) you captured the photo(s)?

My photos are generally a result of seeing something interesting and wanting to capture it. The ones with the fish were a part of exhibition in the Lisbon Aquarium that a Japanese artist called Takashi Amano had constructed called ‘Forests Underwater’ – I could say loads about it but honestly you should look online because the concept was fantastic and it was visually stunning.

Where were you when you realised you wanted to make this piece of art?

The photos are from my bedroom, my kitchen in Liverpool, from the Crags, Lisbon and uni – so all of those places respectively.

Were you listening to music when you created this piece?

Music was playing in the aquarium – a piece by Rodrigo Leao. The others nothing was playing.

What have you learnt since creating this piece?

Hopefully some stuff.

Where do you dream of living?

A flat with a dishwasher.

What does green remind you of?

Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.
