"... suddenly this blazing red, was everywhere; spilling out of buildings, painted onto roads- it guided me home."

Can you describe the moment you wanted to capture?

I wanted to show Edinburgh at that weird limbo time of night, when it is strangely quiet and few people are about. The idea of being alone, in a city I was so used to being surrounded by people, really interested me. I started taking pictures to document my walk home, and something I really loved was the bright red lights of the cars as they passed me by. Red is at its best at night. I then kept looking and suddenly this blazing red, was everywhere; spilling out of buildings, painted onto roads- it guided me home.

Can you describe the moment(s) you captured the photo(s)?

Walking home with my headphones in, it was weirdly intimate.

Where were you when you realised you wanted to make this piece of art?

In a cab at night I began to film the journey out of the window, the only thing you could see was the stream of car lights.

Were you listening to music when you created this piece?

Honne-Woman.

What have you learnt since creating this piece?

To look closer.

Where do you dream of living?

Everywhere.

What does red remind you of?

Nightime.
