Where were you when you realised you wanted to make this piece of art?
I realised I wanted to make this particular piece over a period of time. I thought about the theme of “red” and what it made me feel, and eventually this is what appeared in my mind.
Were you listening to music when you created this piece?
I was listening to interviews with Edie Sedgwick while sketching out a plan for this piece and I was on the phone while actually painting it.
What have you learnt since creating this piece?
I don’t know what you mean by learnt..? if it’s learning from the act of creating the thing then I learnt that smudges really really bother me. If it’s just generally what have I learnt in the past few days then I learnt that computer programming is an over-complicated way to chart projectile motion and also very anxiety-inducing.
Where do you dream of living?
I will end up living in London, but I would like to spend a chunk of time in Tokyo, and maybe New York. (All quite typical choices, but I need a big city)
What does red remind you of?
Red primarily reminds me of anger. I’m actually really not fond of it.
