Can you describe the moment(s) you captured the photo(s)?
I had been in a series of car accidents right after each other in the course of a year and the last one was a hit and run. It was a mind blowing experience that left me in the reflective mind state, I wasn’t able to remember a lot of things anymore, and I became really careful with everything. I would take moments to just think and listen.
Where were you when you realised you wanted to make this piece of art?
I was at the bus station.
Were you listening to music when you created this piece?
No, I was just listening to the sounds around, it served as music to me.
What have you learnt since creating this piece?
To shoot a lot more than I had ever done before to be able to capture that right moment that I was feeling mentally but wanting to show visually.
Where do you dream of living?
I dream constantly of living back in my childhood home in the countryside of North Alabama.
What does black and white remind you of?
Black and White reminds me of the stillness. There’s something indescribable about working in black and white. You start to really focus on light as well as the tones and how that changes the photograph.
