"Communa 13 was considered the most dangerous area of one of the most dangerous cities during the 1980-1990s. In the early 2000s there was event greater violence as government forces regained control from the drug cartels.  Since then the community has used street art to communicate the stories and suffering that people experienced. The area as flourished into a colourful and lively environment."
